I’m Dr Anna Cantlay, an experienced NHS and private GP
based in London.
I have always felt incredibly fortunate that my passion and my career go hand in hand. For me, the passion to care for others started during my school years when I used to work as a carer at a local nursing home in the summer holidays. This cultivated an ethos of kindness and empathy that is the core of my medical practice today.
Since graduating from Nottingham University in 2011 with two first class honours, I have spent time training at some of London’s most renowned teaching hospitals, giving me extensive hands-on experience across a range of specialities including: General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Surgery and Paediatrics. It was during this time I realised my calling was general practice - to my mind a profession of great privilege allowing me to care for patients of all ages across a range of different conditions.
Gone are the days of “the doctor knows best” - you are at the centre of every consultation and I ensure that your care is personalised to you and that we have a collaborative approach to meet your needs.
Since becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, I have developed several specialist interests. I have a keen interest in Women’s Health having completed post-graduate diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Family Planning and Reproductive Health, as well as gaining a certification in psychosexual counselling with the Faculty of Psychosexual medicine. In my NHS work I have a focus on the care of older adults, working with our local Clinical Commissioning group to help shape and improve the way we care for our ageing population. Education is another passion, and I enjoy being a medical student tutor for Imperial Medical School and a medical author and blogger for the patient education platform Patient UK.
I would love to help look after you and your family's health. Please feel free to contact me for more details.
